Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need prior experience to start?
No. Our Beginner track covers tools, safety, and core navigation of walls and ceilings. You will learn clean cutting-in, lap avoidance, and uniform film application before moving to advanced modules.
How are ceiling courses different from wall courses?
Ceiling courses emphasize lighting analysis, roller selection to prevent stipple shadows, and sequence timing to avoid flashing. We also cover posture and fatigue management unique to overhead work.
What equipment is required?
At minimum: dust control sheeting, masking paper, blade scrapers, a quality 9-inch roller system, angled sash brushes, and a clean bucket system. Advanced modules may specify specialty rollers or burnishing tools.
How long does certification take?
Typically 30–60 guided hours plus documented practice. Your path depends on your starting level and how quickly you demonstrate acceptance criteria in our assessments.
Do you offer private coaching?
Yes. We schedule private sessions tailored to your current projects. Contact us to align instructor availability with your timeline.
What support do I get after enrolling?
Email support for troubleshooting, access to updated checklists, and recorded technique reviews when applicable.
Can I focus on decorative finishes only?
Absolutely. Our Decorative track covers limewash, metallics, and texture blending. We still require passing a core prep module to ensure longevity.
What outcomes can I expect?
Clear standards, a documented system, and confidence under demanding lighting—without marketing hype or false urgency.
